Week 1 in Shanghai

Before I knew it I have already spent one week in Shanghai. I kinda like this place when I came here, just it is a bit polluted and the traffic is kinda bad. But other than that, I seems to adapt to the place pretty well.

Day 1: On the day when I leave Singapore on 4 May, I was sad that I would not be able to see Weizhen for another 3 months. Luckily I have equipped myself with webcam so that I can use it in Shanghai for conversation. The trip was kinda long but somehow I got myself pre-occupied with all the services that China Eastern Airline provided me. There are no games or movies, and I am pretty amazed by my patience. I nearly laughed aloud when they said that they hope we have enjoyed the "entertainment" on the flight.

After I have alighted from the plane with Hanwen, we waited in the airport for awhile and meet up with Jiayan and Nicole. As planned, we took a ride that Weifa has arranged for us to the sweet cosy 天际花园. Although we need to climb up six storey high, I like the apartment a lot. There are water heater, TV and Internet Service (Thank to Joey and Weifa). Thank to Jiayan, we have a router so that all of us can use Internet at the same time, but we took quite a long time to configure the router.

We were welcomed by Jiayan's auntie and uncle and were toured around in Shanghai City. It was very beautiful in the town, especially at the bunk with the special lighting along the street and river. It was kinda cold and windy but I prefer this than hot summer wind.

Day 2: We went shopping with her auntie to shop for Jiayan's bed. It was another orientation for me as I get to know how to get around in Shanghai. Had a good dinner near our place eventually.
Day 3: Kinda cheated by the barber early in the morning but I think I have learnt a great lesson from it. Someone mistook me as a Shanghainese and started talking to me in Shanginese. Went to recce our workplace and get to walk around in bus and train. Another orientation trip for me. Had a good meal at Jin Xi near my house with Joey and I-Shan

Day 4: Want to get slack but still, we are out there receeing the bus services and buying our working bags in the afternoon. In the end, we still get back home late.

Day 5: First day of work. Kinda bored. First orientation to the company and get to work with Chinese accounting terms. It is really a struggle for me, like get to know terms like 固定资本,保废,盈利 etc. Well, my job is to work with these terms and come up with good internal controls. Oh no.. AIS and Audit! Kinda sian, had an early night sleep

Day 6: Second day of work. Very energetic. And the boss gave me a treat! And I realize that my colleagues are quite cute one. Had a good chat with them. Open a bank account, and another person mistook me as the manager of the bank. Sianz... Had a bad KFC dinner, but it was compensated by good dumplings later on.

Day 7: Third day of work. Kinda of getting used to work. Boss gave me another treat, cos I forgot my meal order.. Oops! Anyway, kinda getting used to work today. Had a good fruit feast tonite with Weifa's watermelon and apples we bought near our house.
